Tulane Number 1 Party school is written everywhere on internet when looking for some information about the school. How easy was it to convince myself to do my second exchange semester in this city ? Very easy.
In New Orleans, there is always a reason to party and to celebrate. I could not believe it myself before experiencing it.
Mardi Gras Carnival is the most famous one and thousands of thousands of people come from all over the world to see it. During six days, the city is not sleeping, and classes are canceled. There are parties in every street corner and parades with floats every hour in different quarter of the city. People wear either fantastical costume, or for the shy one, the traditional Carnival colors of purple, green and gold to fit in. The streets are filled with beads (necklaces) of all colors as well.
That is far from being the only event. There are 130 festivities in this city during the year. Jazz fest, Essence Festival, Voodoo Fest are some of the most known ones. Some events are even free as they happen in the streets of the French Quarter. It is the opportunity to enjoy some traditional music, to walk by the colonial architecture and try some creole and Cajun cuisine. New Orleans has a very unique heritage and proud traditions.
But which one did I prefer ? The Crawfest at Tulane University! It is one of the country’s biggest student-run music and food festival, with unlimited crawfish !! It was an unforgettable experience, as it was completely crazy and happens only once in a lifetime. I danced with my international friends in the beautiful gardens of my university, under the sun, while listening to student music bands.
On a more serious note, Tulane is a prestigious university. In 2023, it is ranked 44 among the nation’s top National University. And I could see why. My teachers were really great, and I learned a lot from them. I chose five courses: strategic management, technology and innovation, global marketing, advertising & promotion, and negotiations. I was then able to deepen my knowledge of these subjects in the American educational system. Thus, studying at Tulane was a great way to combine fun and education.
To conclude, New Orleans is definitely a one-of-a-kind destination in the United States and I was so happy when I was living there for 5 months. People in the city are so joyful, welcoming, and friendly. So, if you ever have the opportunity to study there or visit for a few days, just go and let me know !
